As imaxes tomadas cunha cámara dixital almacénanse con información adicional incluida nelas, tal como a data na que se tomaron, a configuracón de exposición usada na cámara e, nalgúns casos, incluso onde se tomou a foto.

Mostrar a data na barra de estado

Pode mostrar a data na que se tomou unha fotografía na barra de stado, na parte inferior da xanela.

To show the status bar, press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select Show Status Bar.

Then, press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window, select Preferences and go to the Plugins tab. Then, check Date in statusbar.

Datos Exif detallados

A información detallada almacenada nas fotos dixitais chámase Datos Exif. Pode vela instalando un engadido para o Visor de imaxes.

Para poder engadir esta funcionalidade precisará ter instalado eog-plugins.

If eog-plugins is installed, press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window, select Preferences, and go to the Plugins tab. Then, check Exif display and close the dialog.

Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select ShowSide Pane to view the camera settings used to take the photo. To also view histograms showing the balance of colors and light/shade in the picture, select Exif display in the Plugins tab and click Preferences. Check the histograms you want to view, listed under Histogram.

Tamén pode ver as configuracións da cámara usada para sacar a foto na barra de estado. Seleccione Mostrar Exif na lapela Engadidos e prema Preferencias. Marque Mostrar configuración da cámara na barra de estado.
Mostrar un mapa coa localización da foto

Algunhas cámaras son capaces de anexa información de xeolocalización (xeo-etiquetas) ás fotos dixitais. Xeralmente, as xeo-etiquetas son coordenadas GPS (latitude e lonxitude) do lugar onde se tomou a foto.

Para poder engadir esta funcionalidade precisará ter instalado eog-plugins.

Press the menu button in the top-right corner of the window and select ShowSide Pane to show the map.

O mapa só mostrará a localización onde se tomou a imaxe se existe información de xeolocalización adxunta na foto. Moitas cámaras non anexan a información de xeolocalización ás fotos.
